Bringing the operation of a full agrifood cooperative —field, farm, mill, transport and administration— into a single management model. Making the information generated at each point of the chain speak with the others and with the ERP.

About Cooperativa d'Ivars
Cooperativa d’Ivars is one of the leading agrifood cooperatives in Catalonia, with more than a century of history and an activity that combines four major areas: farming, livestock, industry and logistics. The cooperative produces compound feed at three specialised mills —Ivars d’Urgell (pork), Torregrossa (ruminants) and La Fuliola (poultry)— and operates storage facilities in Castellserà. It serves close to 3,500 member producers and has placed the digitalisation of its plants within its « Feed 4.0 » strategy.

Problem areas

Diverse activities, disconnected systems
Lands, farms, mills, veterinarians and transport worked with different tools. The field operation lived apart from the central management system.
Field operation disconnected from the ERP
Veterinary visits, land management and industrial activity were documented outside the ERP, with information reaching the management core late and fragmented.
No single view of the value chain
It was hard to trace the full product cycle —from field to farm, from farm to mill, from mill to customer— on a shared information base.

Each team kept its own database and information moved by hand from one system to another. Room for error, administration time and risk of mismatch between what happened and what was recorded.

Partial queries on farms, balances or visit histories that were hard to consolidate into a useful overall view for decision-making.

The cooperative's dimension (3,500 members, close to 400,000 tonnes of feed per year) required a digital coordination that a siloed operation did not allow.

Sage X3 as the core, connected with the mills
Sage X3 manages purchasing, raw materials, stock, production and shipments across the three feed mills. It integrates with the plant's industrial platform, so that the industrial operation and the enterprise management work on the same data. In 2024, 343,571 tonnes of compound feed were produced, and in 2025 the figure grew to 389,464 tonnes.
Vertical Agro Aritmos: bringing Sage X3 to the field
The Vertical Agro extends Sage X3 to farm, veterinary and land. Farm master, visit documentation and a web platform where veterinarians report from the field. The Land module (Sage X3 AGRI) enables agronomists to manage holdings, plantations, lease contracts and re-invoicing inside the ERP.
Single view of the entire value chain
Transport and shipments are also integrated into Sage X3, closing the information flow from production to delivery. Analytics is centralised with SEI: queries on farms, balances, comparatives and visit histories at the reach of the management teams.
